February 24, 2025: DAY OF ACTION IN ALBANY


 

WHAT: CDANY Day of Action! Join hundreds of other New York consumers, workers & family advocates to tell our elected officials to save CDPAP & protect consumer choice.
WHEN: Monday, February 24 – arrive by 10:00 AM
WHERE: Meeting Room 1, Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY 12210
BRING: Yourself. Just show up. We will provide the rest!

Get ready for an exciting in-person day of action in Albany with hundreds of other New Yorkers who care about strengthening consumer direction and being the change they want to see in New York and the world.

Information & Logistics:

  • This is an in-person event taking place in the Empire State Plaza in Albany, New York. If you are not sure how to get there, meet at Herbie’s Burgers on the Plaza and our staff & volunteers will show you where to go.
  • We will be handing out t-shirts, so wear a shirt that fits under a t-shirt.
  • We will provide vouchers so you can purchase lunch at the Prime at the Plaza cafeteria. These vouchers are only good at this location, not other restaurants in the Empire State Plaza. The cafeteria is open until 2:00 PM.
  • We will need to go through security to meet with elected officials, which includes a scanner and metal detector. Do not bring any banned items.

Run of Show (Subject to change)

10:00 to 11:00 AM: Arrival & Check-In – Meeting Room 1

11:00 AM to 2:00 PM: March through Concourse & Capitol, Individual & Group Legislative Meetings/Drop-Ins with your Assembly and Senate representatives

2:00 PM: Media Event with Legislators – Meet at I LOVE NY sign near Security!

2:30 PM to 4:00 PM: Individual & Group Legislative Meetings/Drop-Ins with your Assembly and Senate representatives

CDANY will provide printed (and emailed in advance) prep materials including talking points for meetings and budget issue one-pagers. CDANY is offering travel scholarships to help cover costs of getting to Albany. Click here to apply for a scholarship.

Things you can do to prepare:

  • Make sure you have appropriate personal assistant coverage and transportation set up.
  • Send your elected official a message urging them to support the CDPAP Accountability Act!
  • Call your elected officials NOW to schedule your meetings – they will be busy! In addition to group meetings, we encourage you to schedule individual meetings with your representatives. For more information on how to schedule your meetings, check out our resource.
